Core Leather cleaners are designed for use on pigmented smooth leather (also referred to as protected leather)
Protected leather can often be identified by lightly scratching the surface with a fingernail in a concealed area, and note whether it leaves a scratch mark. If the scratch mark color remains the same and does not dry to a lighter color - then it is protected.
